💠National Relaxation Day 💠(15/08/21)

Best get reading, because, oh, do we have some relaxation for you. Don't you feel calmer already? We're sure you do....
We're big advocates of a 'lazy Sunday', but, today, that idea is most definitely taken to the next level. Today, August 15th, is National Relaxation Day. National Relaxation Day is celebrated annually, worldwide.
You may be wondering what on earth I'm currently going on about, but, never fear! Simply read on to learn more, and all of your questions and queries will soon be answered...
Now, when we were first made aware of this ever-so-enticing holiday, we were completely convinced that it had been thought up by a burnt-out businessman, a stressed stay-at-home mum, a overly-tired office-worker.
But, as it turns out, we really couldn't have been any more wrong! National Relaxation Day was actually pitched, created, founded and, indeed, upheld, by Sean Moeller of Michigan. USA.
Moeller actually invented and therefore started, this day, in 1985. But, what makes this even more interesting, is, that, in 1985, Moeller was just nine (9) years old!
Like, how crazy is that? I mean, really, how many of us can say that we created a holiday of national significance and importance, especially when we were still in Primary School!
Evidently, National Relaxation Day has been going strong ever since. Clearly we're all big advocates, as it's obviously stood the test of time.
And, for the past six years, (from 2016 onwards) Moeller has upped the, uh, relaxation stakes, so to speak, even further, by selecting one individual, every year, who sets an exemplary example for relaxation.
Who knows? Maybe you could be the lucky winner of 2021.
What a title to hold, (albeit temporarily) eh?
Primarily, National Relaxation Day advocates relaxing, kicking back, and chilling out - which, we're sure you'll agree, is not only more important than ever in this fast-paced, non-stop, modern world of ours, but, gets harder and harder to do, as, we're sure you know, it can be so hard to just switch off, to take some 'you' time, and to practice some of that much-needed and often frequently sought-after self-care.
National Relaxation Day promotes stress relief and positive, effective, mental health management.
Managing stress requires relaxation and time away, which leads to a clearer and calmer mind. Relaxation also breeds positivity, increased happiness and contentment, and better concentration.
The hustle and bustle of the daily grind leaves most of us on the verge of burnout, and there never seems to be enough time to just simply do nothing.
